We have SO much news to share!
LAUNCH: June 21st, 9AM at Blossom St:
First, we’ve finished up our second boat for Spring ’25! We’re celebrating the launch of both on June 21st at 9AM at the Blossom Street Ferry dock, everybody’s welcome! Save the date, we hope you can join us!
TWO boats:
If you’ll remember, our first boat was started during one of the coldest snaps of the winter, over February Vacation. Working in a 14º garage inspired us to name our boat for the Greek Goddess of Cold and Frost – “Chione”, and paint her a frosty blue. Our next boat, started in April vacation just got its final coat of (warm) red and is still waiting on a name…. any ideas?
OUR OWN SHOP!
In the meantime we found a home and coming winters will prove to be a whole lot more comfortable. Which led to…
CNC and 3D Design and Fabrication:
That also helped us to set up our own CNC router – a Shapeoko Pro 5 with air cooling assist, a 48” pass through, ballscrew-drive and an integrated Bit-Setter. We started cranking out parts right away, teaching and learning the 3D modeling design and manufacturing process. Here are some of our parts – wood, acrylic and brass!
WHAT’S NEXT?
We’re starting one more “ultralight canoe”, which will hopefully be almost complete by the Launch. We’re also doing a little repair work on the fiberglass of the Boston Whaler R/R boat, and will be aiming at building one of the famous “lumberyard skiff” style workboats for KASL to use this Fall.

HELP SUPPORT OUR BUILDS!
We need your help to keep the builds coming, and boats joining the fleet for Lynn’s Veterans and Students! Each Ultralight Canoe costs roughly $500 in materials, each skiff $1000 – $1500. Donate here, with PayPal or your Debit or Credit card: DONATE.
We are a 501c3 Non-Profit, and your donations are tax-deductible! Whatever you can spare will help!
See you on the water! |
